I have worked in the travel industry for over 18 years having started as an apprentice in an independent agency, after leaving school. I then worked my way up to Travel Consultant, whilst gaining a number of travel-related qualifications and went on to become the store’s Assistant Manager.
I also spent a spell working overseas as a Holiday Rep, spending seasons in Menorca and Lanzarote and Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
On returning to the UK, I worked for an online travel company in a call centre before joining Worldchoice Travel Chesterfield where I’ve been store manager since then.
I love how exciting booking a holiday is and how happy I can make our customers feel when I have found exactly what they are looking for. I also enjoy seeing my team succeed and grow and the store go from strength to strength each year. I feel proud to be part of an amazing team.
Countries Visited:
During my career in travel I have travelled to Menorca, Majorca, Ibiza, Costa Del Sol, Portugal, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Croatia, Malta, Zante, Corfu, Crete, Halkidiki, Cyprus, Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor, Cairo, Alexandria, Dubai, New York, Las Vegas and Jamaica.
I have had the opportunity to visit many wonderful places during this time, experience a rainbow of different cultures and create some very special memories – from scaling giant sand dunes in Namibia, helicoptering over Great Barrier Reef to fishing from coracle boats in Vietnam!
Favourite destination:
Portugal is a firm family favourite, it is a very special place to us and we have holidayed extensively along The Algarve, just love the people, beaches, food and how each resort offers something different.
Travel tip:
Don’t be afraid to get lost, you might be surprised at the hidden gems you discover.
Last holiday:
Gouves in Crete last summer, a wonderful short break in family run apartments in a laid-back resort.
Where next?
Menorca booked for July this year and Halkidiki for next year so far!
